Who is the team behind What if?

The original title of the research project is “TransCoding–from ‘Highbrow Art’ to Participatory Culture”.  Using the blog what-ifblog.net as our online platform, we we aim to explore our research topic: how we can involve an audience that is hitherto not available for the new arts in our project. We achieve this by targeting a demographic in the 20-35 age range that originally comes from popular culture in new arts via social media.

This arts-based research project has been awarded a three-year grant from the Austrian Science Fund to create a participatory arts project via social media, a multimedia solo show for violin, visuals and electronics and an audio-visual installation. The three art works will be interlinked and hopefully feed from each other in inspiration, engagement and vision.
