#RightsAndFreedoms | Inspiring Entries

Since we put out our Rights and Freedoms call for entries this week, we’ve already received a number of wonderful and unique submissions. Thank you to everyone who has participated so far!

We’d like to feature a few of our favourites.

Listen to Netherlands-based American composer/performer Anthony Green‘s insistent interpretation of the subsection of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. This is not Anthony’s first contribution to one of our calls. His #GYHAFY, “Piargno,” was a fascinating look at a science fiction alter ego.

The Philippines-born composer Feliz Anne Reyes Macahis is likewise a past community contributor, having sent us the elaborate #GYHAFY “Tala” in which she combined music, text and her own drawings to an imaginary life story.

USA-based percussionist and composer Olivia Kieffer was the first to answer our call of the subsection of the charter. Thank you for taking the initiative!

Barbara has incorporated all three recordings in her first compositional sketch for “Slices of Life -Rights and Freedoms”. We are expecting submission from Poland today, and a French-Canadian version has just arrived.

Thank you to all participants so far.

Want to participate as well? Read this post and get recording!
